at least one
week before they arrive here.

I am interested in establishing raised beds for an organic vegetable and flower
garden. I cannot
be there from April until October and would like to find someone with gardening
experience who
would make a six month commitment to this project. The house is small and brand
new, with lovely
curves, sleeping alcove in one large room, kitchenette and composting toilet.
Rent is normally
$330 per month, but I would only ask for $150 and work trade. It is a wooded
property, located in
a friendly rancho outside of San Miguel Allende in the high desert country. I
bought it 8 years
ago, and it has taken me this long to pay off the original loans and raise a
small but magical
house. There is a well with good water. Property is about 1/3 acre. Have access
to irrigation
water from artesian spring that abutts property. Now I really want to put in a
garden, but I have
to go home to work for six months. Looking for the person who can love this spot
of earth as much
as I do. Rainy season will begin around May or June. Now the country is
blossoming sweet perfumed
yellow mesquite and guisache.

We search for the possibilities to live in harmony in this world while
connecting with our true
nature. We open our doors to everyone who has the intention to transform the
current
unconsciousness of humanity and is willing to serve Life. The primary objective
here is to heal.
Healing our body and mind we contribute to the constant planetary evolution,
acknowledging the
interdependence of every living organism, and realizing oneness. We see our
space as a place
where we can learn to live with each other and where we see which are the
elements needed to
co-create a functional and coherent community, be it with the people living on
the land, with all
of nature’s elements and with the surrounding communities. The work that we are
doing here is
emerging all over the world and we have the intention to extend and weave the
net through
service. Remembering how to live, how to accept, how to forgive and building a
constant trust are
our daily objectives. We offer services of integral health and offers workshops
in holistic
health, sustainability and basic principles of ecology. Our organically grown
plants are turned
into tinctures, teas, oils… being one of the projects envisioned to bring us
sustainability. We
have a Temascal (traditional sweat lodge) that we run twice month. Thatched
cabins for our guests
and patients, and a multipurpose workshop where we do our herbal remedies and
other creative
activities. We have a WWOOFers house with their own solar heated shower, toilet
(biodigestor),
kitchen and two rooms with 2 single beds in each. The woofers activities are:
Taking care of the
herb garden, composting, greenhouse, seed bank, irrigation. When building is
being done - learn
and be part of it. Maintenance of the communal areas, cooking for the members of
the project
(rotation), cleaning your own living space. We are a family run project striving
for
sustainability, hosted by Carlos, an MD with Mind Body training and Mandy-Lee, a
bodywork
therapist - experiencing our biggest bliss, our son Kian. Leave home any
expectations, bring an
open heart.

We are a small family that started in 07 with am organic project with help of
the wwoofers. It
has been a great experience. It also takes a lot of time to get things going. In
the last year we
planted over 100 Maguyes which will be for doing pulque & agua miel (it takes 10
years to grow a
plant so no rush). For this year we will supply animals to an organic restaurant
wich will open
in Apr. We are also trying to organize a restaurant in the ranch & a Music
festival in June -
july. So we have lots of proyects again. We are happy with last year , this year
needs to be
better and hopefully by 2009 this farm will be working on it s own! It has been
difficult but
thanks to all the people that have come we have opened our visions. We try not
to have more tha 3

feeding process.
Sundays Feeding the animals , rest of the time is free. (animals don take time

sunbathing and
scuba diving in the Caribbean, take a bus to Mayan ruins (Coba and Chichen Itza)
and cenotes as
well as and bars and restaurants in Playa del Carmen and Tulum. With work, you
could study Mayan
or Spanish, or learn to scuba dive. The Riviera Maya is not the place to have
either an
inexpensive or an ‘authentic Mexican’ experience as there are many international
visitors.
Living here are 15 dogs, nine cats, two horses, an opossum and 11 hens and
roosters, most
rescued from injury, neglect or illness. We rescue and rehabilitate them then
try to find
adoptive homes, all done currently with no funding. In the mean time we try to
give the animals
good lives.
You must love and have experience working with dogs. We particularly welcome
expert horse
riders, experienced, responsible stick shift drivers and Wwoofers over 30 or 40.
English is the
primary language at the ranch but I know Spanish and French. Please be mature,
willing and
flexible. Wwoofers generally work a solid six hour day, five days a week. You
need to be capable
of working alone, and also be able to get along with a variety of people! Those
who aren’t
comfortable or dedicated to the Ranch projects do not need to stay. Minimum stay
is two months,
but I’m always looking for someone willing to really stay a long time (housing
in return for
caretaking).
Duties involve animal care (feeding, watering, grooming, walking, medicating)
and
physical labor, and at times include caretaking the whole ranch. We have a small
organic garden,
so some work involves hauling manure and removing rocks, a lot of watering in
dry season,
weeding, helping unload supplies from the truck and share in household duties.
The weather from
May through October can be extremely hot, humid, buggy and uncomfortable.
LODGING / FOOD: Wwoofers generally stay in a Mayan-style palapa which has a

Jalisco is famous for its tequila, mariachi and the Chivas, Guadalajara’s world
famous soccer team. Other points of interest in this region are: the JVC center,
the museum Guggenheim of Guadalajara, and our sitei which is a community that
try to fix the discrepancies of the modern civilization with more sustainable
ways of living. It will be a good opportunity to help us with our first year of
organic farming while working with the international community. We have set
aside an area of 1000m2 for the cultivation of corn, beans, cabbage, chiles,
squash, cilantro, tomatoes, cucumbers, jicamas, spinach, lettuce, beets, tobacco,
radishes, and many other common vegetables that grow in the area. These
ingredients provide the tools to make a wide variety of Mexican dishes. I am
sure you will find this region of Mexico interesting because we are surrounded
by the principle icons of traditional Mexican culture such as the mariachi, as
well as the emerging melting pot of a new culture influenced by the
international commiunity. The climate is exceptionally nice with warm days and
cool nights. We need your help in accomplishing two main objectives. The first is
to harvest the most flavorful vegetables of the bioregion directly from the land.
The second is that with your visit we hope to bring the attention of local
residents back to the earth by helping them to remember the benefits of growing
their own food chemical free. Right now the fields remain vacant and people shop
in big supper markets forgetting they can feed themselves with food they grow.
Help us to help.

Here you find the natural beauty and tranquility of a remote locale just 15 minutes from Comitán. We, our help, horse, dog, cat, chickens, and ducks live in the heart of an old finca that produced wheat flour. The mill, millpond and canals date to 1870. The main house was built about 1910. About 1/3 of the land is fairly flat valley bottom with fields of grass (now) and recovering wetlands. The other 2/3 is mountainous terrain, with ancient Mayan terraces. Water flows all year. Our goal is to develop a sustainable living environment and ecotourism destination where people acquire and share skills in organic farming (composting, food preparation and preservation, orchards, medicinal plants, reforestation, ornamental gardens); sustainable building (adobe, ferrocement, calidra, sanitation systems); alternative energy (photovoltaics, hydroelectricity, passive solar, methane generation); wildlife and fish farming; spa and wellness practices (temascal, massage, herbal remedies); the sciences (botany, bird watching, veterinary medicine, astronomy, speliology); and enjoy whatever fruits our lifestyle of "non-wasteful abundance" affords at the time of their visit. There are many other opportunities to learn and share within neighboring communities.
Lodging:
Presently we can accommodate about six adults, depending upon privacy needs. As
we repair and remodel buildings, accommodations may range from dormitory style
to camping. Bathrooms may vary too, but hot showers will always be available.
Please contact us regarding children.
Meals:
We generally prepare, eat, and cleanup after our meals as a group. Meals are
usually simple but much depends upon who is cooking, day of the week, what is in
season, when we last went to the market, etc. We are fairly sure we can adapt to
most needs. Self catering is always an option
